Dr. Amanpreet Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Fariborz Maseeh Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Before joining UT Austin, he held dual appointments as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil and Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and as an Associate in the Earthquake Engineering Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of California San Diego following a B.Tech.-M.Tech. in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
Dr. Singh’s research focuses on advancing resilient infrastructure through experimental investigation, numerical modeling, and innovative assessment methods. His expertise spans earthquake engineering, cold-formed steel structures and nonstructural components, with an emphasis on improving the performance and resilience of built infrastructure subjected to natural hazards. His work seeks to develop practical knowledge and engineering tools that strengthen communities against natural hazards.
